We love oatmeal over here at the Weber household. Sometimes it's a bit of a hassle to do though on a busy morning especially when it explodes all over the microwave. I've been really into crock pot cooking lately it's so dang convenient so I looked into crock pot oatmeal. Found a recipe online and we were wow'd the next morning with little effort on my part! Not to mention the house smelled amazing. I'm super excited to try this in the winter time to be able to wake up to warm oatmeal. SOOOOO.... Good!
1 cup regular or steel cut oats (NOT Quick Oats!)
4 cups water
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
Combine all in crockpot and cook on low for 8 hours. Just a heads up it might look like caramel at first just stir it up. We had raisins but I think next time I'm going to cut up a fresh apple the night before and put it in to cook with the oats.
Enjoy!
